Surface cleaners offer an environmentally friendly way to wash your deck, and with the large variety of pressure washers available, it’s easy to find one that suits your needs. Surface Cleaning Your Deck High-pressure surface cleaners can easily remove dirt and debris from the surface layer of your deck. Power washing is one of the fastest ways to clean a wood deck, but it’s important to be careful, as you can ruin your deck without taking the proper precautions. Before you start pressure washing, remove all of the items on your deck, including furniture, plants, and grills. Take some time to sweep away leaves and other loose debris, this will help to reveal tough stains that have been left by mildew and tree sap. Setting Up Your Surface Cleaner Whether you plan on using an electric or gasoline-powered surface cleaner, you’ll want to hook it up to a garden hose and turn the water on before you start it up. Make sure that the water is cold, as hot water can raise the wood grain on your porch and cause damage. If you plan on using a cleaning solution of some sort, make sure you take the time to read the manufacturer’s label, to ensure your deck can handle the cleaning agents and chemicals. Surface Cleaning Technique Your surface cleaning technique is very important to the overall aesthetic of your deck. In order to avoid causing damage to the wood, keep the tip of your pressure washer between four to eight inches away from the wood at all times. With enough practice, you’ll eventually find the optimal distance to hold the pressure washer. You should be able to see the wood change color as you wash. If your deck is in the sun and your wood has dried out or turned gray, there are several different sealers you can use to prolong it’s life. Your deck will have roughly two full days to dry after you wash it and before you apply the sealer. While you can apply the sealer with a regular paintbrush, a roller or sprayer will take less time. by Andy Madwire on Jul 06 2017

Pressure washers are one of the most helpful tools you can have as a homeowner. From cleaning your outdoor patio to making your car sparkle, pressure washers can be used to clean several items in and around your home. At Mosmatic Professional, we’re proud to be a leading provider of pressure washers and surface cleaners online, and we take great pride in providing our customers with the perfect pressure washer for their needs. In this article, we’ll dive deeper into the details of pressure washers so you can be well-prepared when it comes time to make a purchase. The Types of Pressure Washers With the large variety of pressure washers available on the market today, it can be difficult trying to decide which pressure washer will meet your unique needs. While all pressure washers share very similar functionality, it’s important to remember that all washers are not created equal. Let’s take a look at the two most common types of pressure washers below. Electric Pressure Washers Electric pressure washers are excellent tools for small, light projects like cleaning your patio furniture and washing your car. These washers can be extremely powerful, and some machines can deliver pressure up to 200 PSI. Many people prefer this type of pressure washer because they are very low maintenance machines and they remain very quiet during operation. Gas Powered Pressure Washers Gas powered pressure washers tend to be more powerful than their electric counterparts. These washers can reach pressure levels of up to 4,000 PSI and they can last for many years with the appropriate maintenance and upkeep. While these pressure washers lean on the heavier side, they often have wheels that can help with portability. What Is PSI? The pressure output in pounds per square inch, also known as PSI, is a the main factor in determining the types of jobs a pressure washer can handle. Below is a list of the four most common PSI ratings. Light Duty Pressure Washers - These washers are rated to have a PSI below 2,000. They work great for cleaning trucks, boats, cars, and outdoor furniture. These washers can also be used to pressure wash sidewalks, decks, driveways, and patios. Medium Duty Pressure Washers - These washers generate between 2,000 and 2,800 PSI. In addition the the light duty jobs, these washers can be used to pressure wash the siding of your home and fences as well. Heavy Duty Pressure Washers - Heavy duty pressure washers generate between 2,900 and 3,300 PSI. These models work very well for cleaning jobs when it comes to sidewalks and driveways. They can also help prepare surfaces for a new coat of paint. Extra Heavy Duty Pressure Washers - These are the most professional-duty pressure washers available, offering a PSI of 3,300 and up. Often used for paint preparation and extreme cleanings, many commercial businesses utilize these models. Pressure Washer Tools & Accessories Many pressure washer models come with a variety of tools and accessories that can help you clean more quickly and efficiently. Some popular accessories include: Brushes - These help you apply scrubbing power to your cleaning projects. Extension Wands - These attachments can be significantly helpful when it comes to power washing your home’s exterior. Angled Wands - Special angled wands are great attachments to consider if you plan on cleaning your home’s gutters. Surface Cleaners - Most surface cleaners offer spinning jets that can be tremendously helpful when it comes to cleaning your home’s driveway or sidewalk. Pressure Washer Chemicals - There are many different types of pressure washer chemicals to assist with your cleaning goals. It’s recommended to refer to your pressure washer’s manual to see if the manufacturer has specific chemicals they recommend for their equipment. At Mosmatic Professional we understand how challenging it can be to find the best pressure washer for you. That’s why we’re proud to be a leading provider of pressure washers and accessories online.
